News? Bush Admits Intelligence Failures

Today 's WSJ headline, "Bush Concedes Intelligence Flaws Played Part in War," hardly passes as news. The Administration has been pushing this storyline since it had to retract its wording from the State of the Union address. While Dan Bartlett, Bush's top communications man, denies critics who claim, "all [Bush] has is stay-the-course," indeed, this so-called new message of openess is just a variation on the old excuse that the intel was bad. There is no admission that top Bush advisors may have filtered or interpreted intel and that such use of intel is what led to decisions to proceed with war.

Chew the fat; speak out.
